Spirits of the Longhouse greeting card by Dawn Dark Mountain, Oneida

#641 "Spirits of the Longhouse" Greeting Card

inside upper portion of the card:
Spirits of the Longhouse This is a winter landscape embracing the traditional Iroquois longhouse. The wolf and bear clan spirits hover protectively above, and the turtle clan is represented over the doorway in the traditional manner. A wampum belt, bearing history and ceremony, lies in the foreground. The Iroquois strung the purple shell beads with the 5 white circles of shells against them to symbolize the Five Nations of the Iroquois: the Mohawk, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida and Seneca.

Twilight sings to we who share this place with you, Clan Spirits. Yaw Ko * (we thank you) *Oneida Language
